朱士杰，1900年生于廣州。1912年跟隨畫(huà)家顏純生、樊少云學(xué)習(xí)國(guó)畫(huà)兼攻花鳥(niǎo)與山水。1922年與顏文樑和胡粹中兩位畫(huà)家共同創(chuàng)建蘇州美術(shù)學(xué)校，曾任工藝美術(shù)系主任。1952年調(diào)至南京藝術(shù)學(xué)院任教。曾籌辦了中國(guó)最早的一次中日美術(shù)聯(lián)展，并多次舉辦個(gè)人畫(huà)展。作品《井岡山》、《洞庭小船埠》等為北京中國(guó)美術(shù)館收藏，《撒網(wǎng)》為江蘇美術(shù)館收藏。出版有《朱士杰油畫(huà)選集》。
Zhu Shijie was born in Guangzhou of Guangdong Province in 1900. He learned traditional Chinese flower & bird, and landscape paintings from Yan Chunsheng and Fan Shaoyun in 1912. In 1918, he decided to try oil painting. In 1922, along with two other artists Yan Wenliang and Hu Cuizhong, he established the Suzhou Academy of Fine Arts. In 1985, he was invited to exhibit all of his major works from his lifetime in Beijing, including Jing Gangshan Mountain and “Small Wharf at Dongting Lake” which had been collected by the National Art Museum of China, and “Casting Net” collected by Jiangsu Fine Arts Museum. He used to teach in Eastern China College of Art ( currently the Nanjing Academy of Fine Arts).
