杭穉英?1900年生于浙江海寧。13歲進徐家匯土山灣畫館習畫，1916年考入上海商務(wù)印書館圖畫部當練習生，師承徐詠青及德籍美術(shù)設(shè)計師，后自立畫室，出版月份牌，設(shè)計商品商標包裝，為我國最早的商業(yè)美術(shù)家之一，代表作有《牛郎織女》、《八仙過?！贰ⅰ读悍蛉藫艄目菇鸨?、《木蘭從軍》。
Hang Yiaying was born in 1900 in Haining, Zhejiang Province, and entered the Xujiahui Tushanwan Painting Museum at the age of 13 to study painting. And in 1916, he entered the Drawing Department of Shanghai Commercial Press as a trainee, and studied under Xu Yongqing and German art designers. He later set up his own studio, published monthly cards and designed commodity trademark packaging. Hang was one of the earliest commercial artists in China. Representative works include The Cowherd and the Weaving Maiden, The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, Lady Liang Beats the Drum against the Jin Soldiers and Mulan Joins the Army.
